At the CONSUMMATION individuals will be surprised. They will think everything is as it has always been (1 Thes 5:2-3). Then Christ will surprise them by coming at the head of his army to destroy Satan and his followers finally and completely (Rev 19:19-21).
Christ will bring with Him from heaven all believers who have died (1 Thes 4:14; Col 3:4). The bodies of the believers who have died will be resurrected (1 Cor 15:51-54; John 6:39-40, 44) and joined with their souls/spirits and they – along with believers who are still alive – will meet Christ in the air (1 Thes 4:16-17). All believers will be transformed from every corrupt and perishing condition and be given a new physical and spiritual existence like Christ’s (perfect orange star in perfect purple diamond) (Phil 3:20-21).
The corrupted world goes through a cleansing fire and out of it a New Heaven and a New Earth comes forth (perfect purple diamond) (2 Pet 3:10-13). Christ descends with His transformed believers to the New Earth. They are together – the New Jerusalem, the Holy City, Christ and His bride (Rev 21:2) – and the Church Invisible becomes Visible.
All individuals who have ever lived will come before the Judgment Seat of Christ/God and be judged according to their works (Acts 24:15; Rom 14:10; 2 Cor 5:10). No one will be found worthy of salvation because of their works. However, believers – those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life (Rev 20:12; 21:7) and who have their robes washed in the blood of the Lamb (Rev 7:14) and who, because of God’s grace and power, give evidence of their redeemed condition by living godly and compassionate lives while waiting for Christ’s coming (2 Pet 3:10-12) – are granted life with God. He will live with them – in their midst – in tender, loving fellowship (Rev 21:2-3).
Thereafter, believers will dwell forever with God and the Lamb (Christ) in the beautiful City of God where neither sun nor moon is needed because God and the Lamb are its light, the river of the water of life flows, and the tree of life bears fruit (Rev 21:23-22:2).
All unbelievers – those who have gone their own way refusing to believe Christ – will be judged and found guilty (John 12:48; Mat 25:31-46) and suffer punishment (2 Thes 1:7-10) – being “thrown into the Lake of Fire” (black ashes at bottom) (Rev 20:15).
